Rice is grown on the farms of Extremeña de Arroces partners. On all phases, these are advised by the technical services of the cooperatives, and the growing is carried out according to the prescriptions and indications of these technical services, and under the requirements and demands of the integrated production.

Rice is a crop whose cycle is completed in beds or paddies with the foot submerged in a thin water sheet, which in the case of Las Vegas del Guadiana is of exceptional quality, nothing comparable to the waters on the final stretches and mouths and lagoons of the rivers that feed other rice-growing areas.

The harvest is carried out in a mechanized way when the grain has reached its optimal degree of maturity and from the farms, the paddy is taken to the dryers and warehouses belonging to the same cooperatives where the crop undergoes its first selection and classification, and remains stored waiting to be transported to the transformation plant.
