Extremeña de Arroces is equipped with two independent lines: one line dedicated to mill and polish regular rice, and an other line dedicated to mill and polish parboiled rice. At the entrance to the milling phase, the paddy undergoes again a new cleaning, grading and elimination of foreign matters, other seeds and/or damaged kernels. The milling starts with the removal of the husk, which is carried out between rubber rollers; from there it goes to the paddy separator that receive and remove all unhusked kernels, which return to the beginning of the process until they are finally whole milled. The process continues with the whitening of the kernel, through the removal of the outer layer of bran. Then the rice goes into the polishing machines that provide the grain surface with the uniform texture and colour according to the market demands.
